- Letters to My Son
by Jerry Linenger
A few weeks before Jerry Linenger's sojourn on Mir began, he was asked
what he would miss most about being on the Earth. He responded that it
would be hard being away from his 14-month-old son for so long. Linenger
has been writing frequent letters to his young child and he has
graciously permitted the NASA Shuttle-Mir Web to present them here.

- Willa's Journal
by Willa Cline
"I've always wanted to write, but my writing never really had a focus
before. I've kept journals
sporadically all my life, but in the last few years started keeping one
in earnest, in an attempt to figure
out some things that were happening in my life. About a year ago I
decided to create a web site that
mirrored the journals I was keeping in my real life--a daily journal, a
dream journal, and a 'book of
books,' a listing of books that had made an impression on me--although I
had no real idea who the intended
audience was or what such a journal's purpose might be."
-
Daily Epiphany
by Bill Chance
"Life is full of "little epiphanies" - moments when everything
seems to make sense, when the
universe, while flawed, at least
seems comprehensible for a
split second. It is my ambition to
record these moments -
convert them to electrons - and shoot
them out across the web."
- Journal of a
Sabatical
by Janet Egan
"In February of 1995, I left "high-tech" to take some much needed
time off. Many of my friends
and former colleagues have been
wondering what the heck I have
been doing since, and asking if I
am ever going back. I wondered
those things too, so I started a
journal to help myself answer
those questions. In July 1996, I
started putting that journal
on-line. You're more than welcome
to have a look."
- Reflections of Japan
by Aaron Bishop
"I spent about one year (Aug 96-Aug 97) of my life studying at Waseda
University in Tokyo, Japan. I had visited Japan before, but there were
still a number of things that were new to me. My intention here, was simply
to record my thoughts and share them with anyone who would like to read
them."
