July 14th Cascade Locks, OR - Mt. Hood...142...15,043’

The real day 7. This was supposed to be our hardest day but it was shortened because of road construction. My friend Brian from Eugene joined us for this day. We did 8500 feet of climbing on our way to the Timberline lodge on Mt Hood. The whole day was pretty much climbing with a couple short descents. It was our first day of riding on an Interstate. We rode for about 10 miles on the Interstate but with a huge tailwind we did 25+ mph. Brian pulled me along all day because I was so tired from the antics from the day before. The final 6 mile climb up to the lodge was very difficult. Brian and I went very hard up the whole climb and we passed all the riders but one who always gets in early. The lodge was amazing and we had a very nice PAC Tour dinner and free beer.
