Deutsches Museum
Kaori and Yoko woke up really early to catch a train out to Fussen. They were going to make a day trip of a castle which is one of the first stops on the Romantic Road to Frankfurt. Euge, Midori and I slept in till about ten. Then we headed for town and the museum of science and technology. We have a similar museum back in Chicago, but somehow it was more fun to see stuff here. We spent about an hour learning about the history of human, horse, water, steam, and gas powered engines. The English explanations were actually quite good, but we still found a lot of things to be over our heads. We then moved on to learn a bit about three German passions: automobiles, bicycles, and alternative energy sources. There was more to the museum, but that was the extent of our tour.

German Food
We don't really have German restaurants back home. Perhaps this is because sausages and sauerkraut just don't appeal to a lot of people. Aside from the snacks we ate at the beer gardens, we didn't really eat any authentic German food, whatever that may be. The internet cafe that we loved was actually an Italian joint, selling pizzas and pastas. We also made a pit stop in McDonald's today. Generally nobody admits to going to McDonalds for anything other than a clean bathroom. Once in a while it is good for some fast cheap food, though. Plus, here they are advertising this new McKropolis "Greek Burger?" that Euge tried. What an international place, eh?

Augustiner
Everyone thinks of Bavaria and its Oktoberfests and determines that Munich must be a drinking town. It is. There are actually only four major beers brewed here, Augustiner being one. We had already visited their beerhouse downtown, so tonight we went to their beer garden. The place is huge. Tables and tables of jolly groups consuming insane amounts of one-liter mugs. We shared some more Radlers and made up some more stories. Back to the tent.
