Internet Use Summary

The internet has become an invaluable tool for backpackers in even the far reaches of the world. Even I was surprised at how easy it was to log-on and log-in from basically any major city across Europe and even some not-so major cities. It is the best way to get news from home and try to arrange a rendezvous with friends somewhere. It wasn't always easy to find the right place, because many locals have hardly heard of the net; many of the cafes are only frequented by foreign travelers such as myself. Anyway, it was interesting to learn that the price hovers around five bucks an hour with some expensive places in France, and some cheaper places in the east. At US$100, a lot of my budget went to the net, but it was much cheaper than phoning home. I felt it was worth it. Here are the stats.
