September 10: Long Weekend

Josh took off for the weekend, so I didn't see any reason to sit around the apartment by myself. I headed down to school for a little get-together with some friends there. The Japanese club was watching Mononoke Hime (The Princess Mononoke-soon(?)to be distributed in the States by Disney), so I thought I would join in the fun. It was a little funny to see the University again. It is more of a home for me than any right now, and yet I can't go back there. It was good to see some friends, but I really should make an effort to spend my time elsewhere.

On Sunday I headed back to Chicago and then on to Madison, Wisconsin to visit my brother. He seems to be enjoying his new house. I could probably learn a few things about maturity from him, but instead I just criticize him for his political apathy and material wealth, or something like that. Regardless, we all managed to have a great time out playing frisbee and forgetting about life. I can't believe I made it all the way through college without taking up this sport. Frisbee is pretty cool. It felt like we actually got some exercise while just screwing around with one of the oldest games around.

So, in all, it was a good weekend, but at three full days, it was still too short. Tonight, I had to drive over to the training center to prepare for my big two week lesson about how to do my job. Wish me luck.
