Two Japanese in America

Who in the world first thought of eating Avocado with soy source? I never imagined myself making California roll. Yes, I made osushi yesterday, and realized it was my first time to make it. I was surprised that I hadn't, but that's something I didn't have to. Good excuse. I even sliced salmon for it and it was so nice. I would be a sushi shokuninn if ai can't find any job...

Called Mommy last week just to ask how to make it, and she immediately answered "rice 5-gou, 1 cup sugar, 100cc vinegar..." kind of like that. I respected her so much. "It's Grandma's recipe." she said. I often think about Japanese culture thing as well as American one.

There is a saying that "When in Rome..." In Japan, it's relatively easy to define typical or standard Japanese. But I really don't know what is like American. I can see many Americans who speak different languages, eat different food, etc... It's too much for me to describe "standard American". Anyway, it's fun to meet the people with different background. Variety is the spice of life.

Just decided my plan for Thanksgiving. Bravely, I'm going to homestay with Amish people in Pennsylvania(sp?). Sounds good? In front of me, just piles and piles of work to be done... or supposed to be done. :) Well, work is only work until you play with it, play is only play until you feel it's work...by somebody.

Back to work/play now. Thanks for your message. Talk to you soon.
