Just came back from Amish village in Pennsylvania. :) Bravely, I homestayed with them. The people I stayed with are not old old Amish, so they do use cars, phone, electricity. I was surprised.
Anyway, it was so nice to be there. The people are very warm, I felt so much at home. I love their play, their songs, and their way to enjoy their lives. (They are keiken na Christian. Why is it that I feel I can accept any idea when I speak and think in English?)
I came back this campus this early morning, I'm having difficulty to come back this reality. Today I left my room key inside the room and am locked out. Now I'm waiting my room-mate comes back killing my time in this my favorite 24-hour open computer lab. Amish people don't lock their houses...
When I spent a day in New York City on Wednesday, I was so excited. But last night when I got on the bus in NYC, I thought the neon light was so much annoying. I even thought it was very unusual scene that evryone was sitting in front of computer without saying anything in this large room. Now I'm one of them. There is a oxymoron that I'm expressing my feeling with this modern technology...
A lot of emails were waiting for me. People still tell me how nice the soccer game I missed was. Japan is going to World Cup! It's the first time in this 43 year history, and everyone was so excited. It was just two weeks ago, I guess. My dearest Higashi kou also won at the final of ken taikai for the first time in this thirteen years! (After many many many seconnd prize...) It would be so much easy to go to ouen to Kokuritsu considering I lived in Tokyo...(sigh)
I guess it's time that my room-mate is back from library. It's snowing again in this upstate of NY. The wind chill is 13 degree(F). I was surprised that NYC was so much warmer than here.
