My last week was kind of busy for test, graduation ceremony, TOEFL and parties. The ceremony on last Thursday was wonderful. We all, not all but some, dressed up and had some nice dinner. I went out there with Mike. I told him to dress up and he wore tie but he was one of two who wore tie. The other guy was my friend's boyfriend. It was too much to wear tie though, we had good time.
You know, Korean money, Whon(Is this spelling correct?), is going down, so many friends from Korea have to go back to their country. That's very sad thing. Their families can't afford to support them. Japanese economic problem looks very tiny comared to Korean economic problem. But almost all economic problem is temporary, they just have to wait the time when it gets well. It's just bad timing to them, I think. What do you think about that? Of course, they need to do somthing to get out of such a big trouble and we also have to support them. The United States sometimes seems to be individualism, especially in economic and politic. One of the reasons for attacking to Asian economic is in the strength of US dollars. That's good to make our own money strong though, we should take care of balance. Anyway, we can talk about this and another thing in Illinois. We don't wanna start arguing now, huh?
Oh, we had a party last Friday with American students and some Japanese and Korean students. We talked about a difference between societies. Some students said Japan is good country to raise family, but I don't agree with them. That's depend on where in Japan. I don't want my kids to grow up in Tokyo. Countryside is okay but not in Tokyo. Tokyo is not Japan. Tokyo is Tokyo. One thing that I hate this huge country is that many people don't recycle stuffs that we can use again. You said Japanese people wasted many things when we went Mcdonald's in Roppongi but it is easier to waste things in the United States than in Japan. I see cans, paper, plastit bottles, and something like that in a garbage box. There are no separate boxes at the same place. Well whatever people in here do, I like this country because people are friendly and food is cheap.
Hey, did I tell you that I went Mike's father's house on Thanksgiving day? It was my first time to have such a wonderful dinner at house. I used to think that American foods are hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chickens or anything heavy, but I was wrong. His father told me those were traditional American food. There were no humbergers or hot dogs on the table. Believe or not, turkey is one of my favorite foods now.
I'll stop around here. We'll have plenty of time to talk to each other. Please don't forget to meet me at the airport @ 5:30 on Wednesday. I can't wait to see you guys. This will be last email in this year so I'll write to you next year.
