I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro via the Rongai Route with my friend Gene and four British guys in February 2011. Our guide asked why I wanted to climb. Well, I am living nearby in Ethiopia and always looking for a good adventure. The only other tall mountain I have climbed is Mt. Fuji, but I have done a couple weeklong trekking trips in Nepal and Papua New Guinea (lost the camera on the Kokoda Track) which I really enjoyed. Kili just seemed like a fun challenge.

• Day 2: Simba Camp to Kakelewa, 3679m
• Day 3: Kakelewa to Mawenzi Tarn, 4303m
• Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn to Third Cave, 3936m
• Day 5: Third Cave to School Hut, 4722m
• Day 6: School Hut to Peak, 5895m
• Day 7: Horombo (3705m) to Marangu Gate, 1860m
