Wow! What a delicious outdoor breakfast we had at the Rendevous Restaurant in the Romantic
Hotel overlooking a beautiful parkway in Panevezys, Lithuania. In order to make up time and to
avoid more trials like yesterday, we opt to take a bus from here to the capitol of Latvia, Riga, on
the Baltic Sea. The deluxe bus ride only cost us less than $8 with no charge for our bicycles and
it saved us 2 days of riding. Now this is my kind of trip!
After getting a hotel downtown just a few block from downtown, we set out sightseeing. What a
beautiful town square they have-quite impressive. We had a most delicious lunch at a Garlic
restaurant so no one got close to us after that. We walked to the castle to get a great view just as
they were changing the guards. We walked to the Old town, but were tired after all the walking
we had done. So we stopped in Double Coffee for coffee and a treat. Neither of us were hungry
for supper so we chose to soak in our huge hottub in our room. It was just what I needed to let
me get a good nights sleep. Our hotel cost us $126 but it was a huge bedroom with a 4-man
hottub and a nice balcony that gave us great views.
