July 17th Bend, OR - Diamond Lake...124...6,220’

Day 10 was one of the longest days at 124 miles. It started with a 3000 foot climb out of Bend. The morning was very chilly and I almost froze because I didn't wear enough. I thought I would warm up on the climb but it took a while to get to the steep part of the climb. The middle of the day was flat and on some busier roads with a rough surface. It was a long day in the saddle with all the buzzing on the tires. At the end of the day we ended on a nice road that had a great downhill. I was able to hit 50.7mph. We finished at small lake resort on Diamond Lake. Aaron and I went for a 4 mile run along the lake. There was a paved bike path all the way around the lake so it was a nice run. We had a nice meal at the lodge on the lake with a table of friends.
