February 13: Double Suicide

9:30am

No, I am not planning on doing anything stupid. "Double Suicide" was the title of the Japanese movie that I watched the other night with some friends. That was pretty much the highlight of my week, I think. I try to study as much as I can, but I take time out to do things with JNET, this new club that my Japanese friends are starting. Anyway, this movie from the late 1960's was pretty wacky. It showed the helplessness of life. The main character was so in love with this "courtesan" that he couldn't do anything else. Eventually his work, family, life fell apart and he committed suicide with the mistress. Pretty cool.

Now, I don't love the CPA exam that much, but my life feels almost as hopeless and one-tracked some days. I am balancing though. Balance. I went out for some mountain biking last Saturday. Pretty cool. It was really warm, which was cool. However, the ground was thawing and we got totally muddy. I didn't get a chance to clean my bike, so now I look like this really tough guy riding around on my dirty bike. Okay, so I don't look so tough. I just look like I have a dirty bike.

Made it to the Chicago Auto Show on Sunday. I was a little disappointed that the new VW Beetle looks so small. The front seat is fine, but I am not sure that I could fit two mountain bikes in the hatch. Besides, I don't think an accountant can be seen tooling around in a hippy-green Beetle. I would go back the the SAAB, but they have gotten expensive. The base model has turbo and leather seats and all now...

Late for a meeting...
