Finished up the last of six CPA practice tests this morn. I skipped CPA review class all this week, because we are going over audit stuff which I feel I know. Did all right on the exam this morn, so evidently my private study was worth more than going to class this week. That puts the final tally at 5/6. The goal was to get 75% on all six exams. If I had achieved this, I was supposed to have a 98% chance at passing the real exam on May 6&7. Well, I passed five of the tests and missed the sixth by only one question. That means that I should be able to pass without any trouble.
I really don't feel that ready though. I try some comprehensive self-tests now and then, I am don't get really great scores. I know a little bit about each of the subjects, but I am not sure that I could write a 20-minute essay about anything. Anyway, not much farther to go.
I took out another loan to help finance my vacation for this summer. I am thinking whether I want to include this trip on my web page somehow. I have been looking into QTVR more as well as other examples of travel journals. I was really impressed with bikeabout.org So much, that I thought about quitting my job and going into business with those folks, though I don't think they are making any money.
Anyway, I decided that I need a new wide angle lense for my camera and maybe an old laptop to record my travels. I started looking around at on-line auction houses like ebay.com and onsale.com Found some cool stuff at good prices. I just bought a Sharp Zaurus 5000. It is not quite a laptop, but it has a keyboard that should be decent enough for typing, whereas my Japanese Zaurus only has pen input. Plus, it only takes two AA batteries, so I can keep it powered up with the solar battery charger that I recently got at rei.com Internet shopping.
Having some productivity problems lately. Not exactly wasting time, but not using it wisely on the thing that should be number one: CPA. Maybe it shows where my real interests lie. I did have a good dinner with Andersen this week, which made me feel like I might fit in all right there. The table conversation was a little superficial, but general they were good company. It is just a matter of whether I want to go for corporate America or some wacky non-for-profit overseas-how bout that bikeabout.org
Later!
