May 10: Final Week

6:15pm

For most people, this is "finals week," ie: they have final exams and papers and painful stuff to finish. For me, this is the "final week" of my undergrad career. Yes, I do still have one course which I haven't wrapped up. I got an extension on a five-page paper that is due in my "History of Student Protest" class. I have already read most of the material and I have the paper planned out, but I just didn't want to bother with it before the CPA exam.

I guess I do have a lot going on this week, though. I haven't really gotten much accomplished yet, but I do need to clean up my graduation speech, get ready for my trip, prepare to move stuff home, etc, etc. Still working on the last details about the trip. I think I may have a solution for getting rid of my bicycle in Germany. Someone from back home has some friends/relatives in northern Germany who have big farms. I might be able to store my bike there for a couple years. Then I could return again some time for another European biking adventure (Eastern Europe?).

I have spent most of the free hours of the last few days playing with QTVR stuff. I am getting better at blending the eight to ten pictures into one seamless panorama so that I can make a good QuicktimeVR image. It is tedious work. My right wrist is beginning to bug me again due to the excess use. Only another week, though, and then I won't be touching a computer for a while.

It is a little daunting to think about all that I have to accomplish this weekend. I haven't talked to Arthur Andersen in a while. I need to call up there and figure out some details about my starting work in August. One small glitch in the August plan is that I can't buy the car I wanted. It seems the New Beetle is selling like crazy and people have ordered them over one year ahead of schedule. That means that there is little chance that I can just pick one up after a couple days of shopping in August.

Ah, I guess the big news of the weekend is that I ordered my own domain name. Yes, I too will be master of my own domain soon. I found a place that will do virtual hosting of 150MB of stuff for only twenty bucks. I should be able to get all of my stuff transferred over and up and running by the end of the week. More stuff to do...
