November 30: Howdy

These sporadic bursts of emails have been really something. The only way to describe my consistency in this so-called work life is that there is work on a consistent basis. I'm now training two people... and doing three people's worth of job. As far as quality in work... I don't know... but this place is quickly beginning to resemble an assortment of scary monsters. Whatever...

As the clock strikes midnight at work on a Monday night... I'm ready to come back here by 8 for a conference call with New York... then I'm off to my happy University Visits... tomorrow is Todai. Already did waseda... and saw good ol' Yamaguchi-san. He was a shiny happy person. Unfortunately, the more cozy atmosphere has now been replaced with a larger assortment of more scarier monsters from waseda standards... and it was a very blinky experience. I must say...

My weekends have been a maelstrom of visitors, alcohol, and whatever else one can imagine. I trekked back to some of our old hangouts -- Ben's, Fiddler, Bar Isn't It? Acaraje, Utahiroba at Takadanobaba (karaoke), and more purikura and izakayas. My Berkeley buds and Mom brought a dozen bottles of wine each, and with a series of three visitors and some local friends, I've now come down to 6 bottles in just three weeks (with a little help from friends) on weekends. Surely, this has not been too kind on my cough... but it's sure been a medley of indescribable mosh of various "highs" -- literally speaking....

Aside that... much ado about nothing. just waiting for the good ol' weekend.
