June 24: Kampai!

I must say, I had a very lovely birthday yesterday. A year ago today... I was in Vietnam, an the year before, I was doing Waseda.... so my series of birthdays have been great thus far.

Yesterday, my departmental thing was supposed to be VERY low profile, but it soon developed into a horde of people wishing me happy birthday -- including some managing directors of other divisions. Nonetheless, it became a corporate get together, as my new supervisor arrived, and we cheered over some beer while I was being tossed and turned drinks left and right. I got a number of candy gifts which shelve my new cubicle... and it's just been a grand "corporate" event.

Aaron, Midori, and Yoko paraded me to a cool schnazzy jazz bar.... with a black grand piano on center stage... The dude sang a series of pop song... highlighted by "Honesty" by Billy Joel. Could not get any better than I thought....

SO I THOUGHT!

Yoko climbed on stage... asking the dude to play happy birthday. Yoko sang along and carried the show away... WOW.

Food was good. Champagne was good. Company was great!!!! All of my best to all of you... and I must say, My life may have just begun...

Nonetheless, I'm ready to hit the road... and take new adventures in high-fidelity... Fidelity and Cheers to FUN!

Kampai!,
