Charleston, SC

We are here in Charleston SC. It is a pretty neat city. We didn't get to see too much of it today but hope to see more tomorrow. We got here around 4pm and took a trolley down to the market. From there we walked along the waterfront as far as we could go.

We ran into a man that talked to us about himself and the area. He had lost his wife of 60 years and is lonely now. So I guess he just hangs out and talks to people to keep from being lonely. He even wanted to take us anywhere we wanted to go and buy us supper. But we told him we just wanted to walk in the area. So we go a little further and your dad spots a Sportmobile like he wanted to buy. The owner happened to sitting on a bench by it and he told us all about it and showed it to us. His wife came back as we were talking to him. They were a very interesting couple from CA. We finally got to eat after 8pm. We just got back to the room.

I guess we might hike the Grand Canyon again this summer with our kids if we can find a backpack. We do have a tent, but if we are going to carry it we will need bigger bags...

We left Colorado last Saturday morn. We stopped at Marilyn's for about an hour. We got to see their new house. They just moved last Tuesday. We wanted to go on to St. Louis area so we could bike the Katy Trail on Sunday. BUT we got up to pouring down rain so we opted to keep on driving East. We spent the night in Knoxville TN last night. Then we got up to more rain there this morn and drove in rain most of the day. It is real humid here but no rain. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. I think we will spend tomorrow night here also and then head to Savannah on Wed.
