Today is the last day that I will be sitting at this desk as an employee of Busey Bank. I still cannot believe that this is the end of my banking career. I don't know when it will hit me, but I know it will when I least expect it.

It is so sad for me to leave the people I work with. I won't miss the work itself, but my "family" here. Almost all the ones I started with are retired so that makes it a little easier. But I will mainly miss Ron, Colleen, Debbie, Terry, Nancy, Julie, Cheryl and Anne. They have helped me raise you guys and share my excitement of my grandchild. I have spent a lot of hours with them.

The girls at the bank had a retirement party for me at Ned Kelly's on Wednesday night. I think that just as many retired employees were there as present employees. I got a neat charm bracelet that I will bring to Colorado to show you. What a fun time it was.

I have an open house today from 1-4pm. They had me open gifts this morning. They had so many crazy things they gave me that were stuffed in a backpack. I also got a gold chain, a purse and several restaurant gift certificates. Your dad, Michael, Vanessa and Ava shared those moments with me.

I have been all day trying to get this written. My mom and dad are going to be here for the open house. They will stay overnight. I have a family dinner tomorrow at 2pm. It will be the "Last Supper" at our house. Most of the family will be with us.

We are having a garage sale Thurs, Fri and Sat. We will eat tomorrow when the garage sale gets over. Your dad is off all next week so we will move everything out of our house then.

We will pick you and the girls up in Denver on the 18th at 8pm. Can't wait to be with all of you. Matt called me today for my retirement.

I just can't believe that this is really happening. But it will hit me sooner or later.
