Last Supper

08-03-02

Since I was always the one who had the holiday dinners, I felt it only appropriate that we should host one last family dinner in our house. We had 21 for dinner and 31 for supper. The day started out okay until the air-conditioner went out around dinner time. Dinner was to start at 2pm just as the garage sale came to an end. We had a huge garage sale for all of our junk plus Jackfs folks junk. It went quite well. The plan was that everyone that came to dinner was to take at least one of the leftover items from the garage sale. Everything had to go!!

Even though the air-conditioner went out and it was the hottest day of the summer, everyone still had an enjoyable time. Thus came the end of our entertaining our family at 904 E Washington, LeRoy.

08-04-02 to 08-12-02

The plan was that we would finish packing our belongings the next week. Then my last week could be spent visiting my friends. WRONG! What would seem to take a couple hours would turn into an all day project. Even though we had begun packing at the beginning of the year, it seemed like a never ending job. We worked from morning till night. Everything had to be taken to our sonfs in Wisconsin, to our storage unit in LeRoy, to our townhome in Colorado, in our van or thrown or given away. What a lot of work.
