We donft have to go to work!

09-02-02

We hold our annual HOA meeting at the Brownfs at 9am. It went well and was over at 10am. At 10:15am we are to meet Don, Mike and Dick for a bike ride up Vail Pass. Al makes it halfway up to Copper, Jack makes it to Copper and Joan and I make it up Vail Pass. We didnft have time to wait for Don since I had to be home in time to take Michael and Matt to the airport.

Jack, Al, Joan and I spent the day at the Royal Gorge. It seemed like a real bargain of $18 to be able to ride the aerial tram, incline railway, walk/drive bridge, ride miniature train and carousel. It was a gorgeous day and thoroughly enjoyable one.

Joan and Al leave to go home.

09-05-02 thru 09-07-02

This is the first day of our retirement that we have had the whole day by ourselves. We are totally lost. Up to this point it has seemed that we are on vacation. We donft know how to act. Of course we continue to clean and organize our home.

One morning Jack woke up and said, gThis is our home and we donft have to go to work!h It just simply has not registered for us. We have had so much happen to us in the last year. It is hard to figure out just what we have done. One minute, I am so excited about it and the next minute, I am scared to death. It is scary to think that we will not have a paycheck coming in. I get the feeling that we will be broke in no time. But we know not what the future holds for us. We will have to play each day out and see what happens.

09-08-02

Don and Judy and their friends, Mike and Cindy from Lincoln NE join us for a short bike ride. After they leave Jack and I pack and head for Illinois. We spend the night in Lexington NE.
