May 4: Midori: What's up?

Well, Mommy sent me some pictures the other day, and i got a bit homesick. some of them are the photos of our spring garden, and for some reason they reminded me the taste of bamboo shoot from our garden.... Others were a few pictures of my brother when he had 'nyuutai shiki'. (you know what? He just entered self defence force! Yeah, everyone in my family is a black sheep, I admit.) He was just a kid when I left Japan but he became very adult, which made me realized how long I stayed away from my lovely home.

But I kinda don't wanna leave here at the same time. I feel like I just got to know how to enjoy the life here. My semester was over last Friday. I was going to get certificate when I applied IEP (Intensive English Proglam) spring semester, but I wasn't seen in the English class very often. Instead, I found lots of fun stuff and made lots of friends. (but I don't know anybody from IEP.) Did I tell you I took cross country ski course? It was fun! I took another pe course, I might have told you, but it's belly dance!! It was so much fun. In spite of the fact that I didn't need any credit, I wasn't absent a time. (Plus, I didn't even have to pay the tuition.) I personally liked the instructor a lot, so, even though the class was over, we're planning to go out for a dinner. I also did portry at the studio of WSH, and I was really into it.

I was so blessed with people, including you. My friends are my English teachers and my language lab, and mor than that. Right people take me to right places and right groups, and give me right information. Oh, I'm practicing for a driver's license. I already got learner's permit, which means, I don't have to carry my passport all around any more.(^_^) my friend often let me drive for practice, and takes me out for groceries, etc... Oh, I drove to the Corning glass center the other day. Plus, I'm trying to go to Helen Newman to work out every day. It was quite revolutional thing to me, but I'm enjoying. I got muscles.

Since it's almost the end of the semester for regular students, lots of events are going on on this campus. I went Gospel Choir last night (Sun), Indian dance on Saturday, Gamelan (Indonesian music and dancing) on Friday, etc, etc... The guy who invited me to his gamelon concert took me his prof's apartment for their party after the concert, and I could talk to the musicians, and dancers, learned a lot, and had nice time. Anyway, since I'm leaving here, I'm eating dinner with defferent people every day, still learning a lot.

I'm planning to travel around for summer. France, spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey... I'll meet up some of my friends there, pretty much expecting that Kaoru-chan will let me stay with them. I called her in Province once, quite a while ago and she said it would be ok.

Well, that's all I can think of for now. How do you like it? I'm pretty much satisfied with my recent achievement. It's not like everything is tebanashi-de fun, but I definitely am enjoying my life. Life is great.

Hope you had nice refreshing golden week, and wish you good luck for everything.

Midori
