January 25: Yai's Winter Break Report

Well, I'd been out my apartment for almost one month but nothing has changed in Maryland. You know, our trip looks really busy and unusual to me now, because my present life is just relaxing, studying, and going out and I feel like I'm back to real world. So at the same time, I could say our trip was what we don't do everyday, which means it's very worthy.

Do you know what I want to do again? I want to see the view from the top of mountain. That was awesome! I hadn't known that there was such a great place for beautiful scene until we made it up. Thank you, Aaron. I appreciate it.

I found many good things about this country during this trip. First of all, people are open mind and they always gave us(two strange Japanese girls) warm welcome. I've heard that some people are conservative and they never know and care about non white people. It could be true sometimes but many of them whom we met showed us interest in Japan. Hey, is it true that many American don't know where China, Japan or Korea is exactly? or is it just a kidding?

Second, gas is much cheaper than Japan. We should learn how American goverment or business handle it. I guess the reason of that gas in the US is really cheap is in somewhere in social system. We should learn how to make the price down from this country.

And, almost all highways and interstates are no charge! Why do you think we spend a lot of money for highway in Japan? This story is same as gas one, I think.

On Christmas eve, we went to church for mesa ,didn't we? That was also I never see everyday. I had seen many religious Korean but never seen religious American in here, especially around me. So I was surprised at people in the church a liitle bit.

You know, how disappointed I was when we left Blue Chicago.... I had been looking forward it a lot. I was so sad seriously. So I have a reason that I need to go back to Chicago someday. And when I go there, you guys (Midori and You) must come with me, okay? We should go back.

Anyways, the most important thing that I learned is we can't tell what America is because there are bunch of religions, peoples, music and so on. I learned it when I was talking to your father at Christmas party. I had already known that but I didn't understand what America is very much.
