August 21: Discrimination at the Pool

There was an article in last week's paper about a public pool in Gunma that had banned foreigners. Two elementary school students had had trouble from foreigners. One was touched on the thigh, the other was dunked by 5 foreigners. The board of education was notified of the incidents, and it decided to post a notice that all foreigners were banned.

The article mention nothing of the possible nationalities or ages of the foreigners. It also didn't say if there were lifeguards at the pool and if they were asked for help at the time of the incident. Another interesting thing about the article is that the paper mention" "507 foreigners are registered with the village government, including 166 Brazilians, 103 Philipinos, 71 Thais and 45 Peruvians." Notice any countries missing?
