September 30: Bugs

I am having trouble. My hand hurts/ tingles so much that it is hard to type. Why? Because I have bug bites.

It must be bug season, cause they're eating me. I get them at night, while I am sleeping. Every morning I wake to find new bites, most of the time on my hand. I never see these bugs, but my body seems to be especially sensitive to them. My hand is swollen, even though I have been putting itch cream on it many times a day. I think that the itch cream it beginning to affect me too. When I apply it, it makes the bites feel tingly, like putting on Icy-HotŪ. But now, my whole upper body feels tingly. It's weird. Also, the side of my hand is swollen, and it is hard to move.

Last night was the end-all, though. I woke up around midnight, with a strange sensation. My face felt kind of numb. I went to the mirror to see what was going on. Apparently, a bog had bit the bridge of my nose, near my left eye. That whole area felt rather numb, and was swollen. I put a little bit of itch gel there, but that wasn't a great idea. It was too close to my eye, so I had to wash my face. I tried to fall asleep after that, but it took a long time.

This morning, the swelling on my face was pretty much gone, though I did have new bites under my chin. I guess that I better do something to kill these bugs before they eat me to an early grave.

One last bit of info. One of the teachers at my school is going to Poland and Austria next week for a convention. What I find so hilarious is that he is supposed to be the interpreter. He but he can't speak either. I have been teaching him how to order food and to ask where something is. Good luck, Mr. Nakagawa!
