Central China and Beijing

In June 2006, I quit my cushy job in Tokyo and took off on a rushed trip around the world. The following pages are from the two weeks I spent in China in August. This was my 3rd, 4th, or 5th trip (do you count Hong Kong? Taiwan?) to China but I visited entirely new places. I was very pleased with how easy it is to navigate in China. I recommend spending the extra money on planes instead of buses and trains, but it is very easy to find good food and accommodations at very cheap prices. Happy exploring!
